To be mindful of your Pilates practice and to pay attention to the effect on your body of each movement.
3. What has impressed you most with your classes?

Mihoko explains every pose so that you can get maximum benefit from your lesson.
4. What were your expectations and what did you hope to learn from your classes?

As I was approaching 60, I felt that I should pay more attention to my body as it is the only one we get. I wanted to give my body strength and flexibility.
5. What noticeable benefits have you received from becoming a regular participant?

My posture and core strength has improved.
6. Has there been any changes in your lifestyle since becoming a regular participant and if so, why do you think this is?
I now do an hour a day of some form of exercise. This is as a result of enjoying my initial classes with Mihoko. I also now pay attention to my body as I go about my daily routines.


Your Opinion and Experience:
8. Are the classes suitable for absolute newcomers to yoga and pilates?

Yes! I attend the beginner class of pilates and Mihoko explains exactly what you should do to get maximum benefit.
9. Do you think there should be age limitations for class members?

No. There are people of all ages and abilities. It is an individual pursuit where you listen to your own body and do what you are capable of.
10. Why did you choose to participate regularly in yoga or pilates classes?

Because it makes me feel good.
11. Is it easy to commit yourself to the lifestyle?

Very easy. The lesson only takes 1 hour of your day and is an enjoyable way to spend the time.
12. In your opinion, what is the difference between Mihoko’s class and your experience of other classes, instructors or types of exercise?

Mihoko’s classes are very intimate where you all get to know each other which makes the class an enjoyable experience.
13. Do you think the fee is fair?

Yes.
14. Do you think Mihoko's class would be good for people who are already doing Yoga or Pilates?

Yes. She has a beginner and a general class so you would be able to slot in to where you feel comfortable.

Yes.

I researched classes on the coast.

I identified the class but went away on holiday for a few weeks, so I only joined when I returned. 
18. What do you think you would be like today if you hadn't joined?

A lesser version of myself.

1, 65, pretty good health. Not very flexible and I don't have great balance. Started classes around the middle of 2018.
2, I am learning more awareness of my body and how important it is to use my core muscles

私からみなさまへのメッセージ
人間同士が作る関係というのは、とてもシンプルで、全ての結果はその前の原因があるから出来上がっているという、とてもわかりやすいものです。どんな関係もその関係の中にいる人たちによって、常に変化があるものですし、その方向性や形、質、深さなど、どんな風にでも自由自在に育てていけるものなのです。ここで繋がるご縁は、私とすでに長い付き合いの方も、まだ知り合って間もない方も、名前や顔は知っているけど、まだ触れ合ったことがない方も、今までまったく知り合うことがなかったけれど、このプロジェクトを通じてはじめて繋がる方も、それぞれの距離感があります。私はそれを嬉しく思い、それぞれの関係が、その場、その場で自由自在に変化していき、お互いにとって居心地の良い関係を作っていければと願っています。こんな私ですが、私がすでに持つ人間関係の全てが良縁を保てているわけではありません。全ての関係には、個性があり、時期的なものや流れというものもある上で、時にはその関係を保留にしなければならない時もあります。実際、私にもそういう関係がありますので、より人間の心理の複雑さや、本質を求めるシンプルさに興味をそそられます。

私の観る世界
少し難しいかもしれませんが、人間の行動心理や、社会の構造や常識、また時代の流れなどで、私たちの考えや、信じるもの、普通という観念、価値感などが、私たちの本当の気持ちを無視して成り立ってしまうことがほどんどなのです。もう少し簡単に言うと、なかなか自分らしい自分になれなかったり、その方法がわからず暗いトンネルにいるようだったり、何かを信じてみたけれど結果苦しくなったり、身近な人に理解してもらえず孤独な気持ちになったりと、理想と現実のギャップを感じる関係や状況のことです。そうなると私たち人間の心はとても悲しく寂しい気持ちになります。それが、良い悪いはおいておいて、そういう状況になることや、気持ちを持つことがある、というのが事実ではないでしょうか? 自己実現や居心地の良い人間関係をどれくらいの人がもてているのでしょう。心の底から笑える日がどれくらいあるのでしょう。素直な自分を表現できる瞬間がいくらあるのでしょう。人間は社会動物です。恋愛も仕事も家庭も遊びも全ては対人です。自己実現だって、周りに映る自分の姿や、人のために自分が出来ることを通しての社会活動でしかありません。私たち人間は常に他人に触れていて、その他人との関係が良いものなら、人生がより楽に喜びと笑いに溢れるのではないでしょうか? ただ、全ての人がそれを求めているわけではないことを理解した上で、それでも一生懸命に出口を探そうとしている人や、ずっと探し続けて見つけられずに諦めてしまった人がいることも現実とし受け入れています。私たちの生きる現実は、誰もが心に傷を持って生きています。子どもでも大人でもみんな傷ついています。どんな人でも、その人の人生のどこかで悲しい出来事を体験しています。もし、それを知っていたら。もし、それを理解しようとする心が私たちにあれば、他人に対しての接し方や向き合い方が自然に変わってくるはずなのです。

私が出来る恩返し
私は、今までの体験と経験で、居心地の良い関係を持つことの嬉しさや、温かさを知っています。逆に自分の意思にさからってどうしようも出来ない関係がある寂しさも知っています。素直に笑える喜びと豪快に泣ける自由を持っています。人生のある時点では、自分を受け入れてもらうために、自分ではない自分を演じることがあることも知っていますし、そこに虚しさがあることも体験を通して知っています。実際に、私が西条に住んでいた頃は、ひとつの職場に勤め続けることが出来なかったですし、今より良い環境があるはずだと嘆き、いつも何かに対して怒っていました。人を傷つけているという感覚がないまま、自分勝手な選択を沢山してきました。そんな私を、広い心で受け入れてくれたり、見守ってくれた方も多くいた中、繋がっては離れていく関係や、お互いに勘違いしたりされたりの関係、親身になってアドバイスをくれたり応援してくれた関係もあったり、そんな私に嫌気がさし消えていった関係もあります。西条を離れて、海外に住むことでわかった地元の良さや、日本人ならではの心があることも今では知っています。それに加えて、英語を話せなかった私に自分らしくいても良いと教えてくれたオーストラリアで出会った方々、そんな環境があったことへの幸運、影ながら何も言わずに私を信じ続けてくれた両親と姉、そして友人の存在のおかげで、沢山のことを学ぶことが出来ました。そのおかげで、この私の心で育った『精一杯自分らしく生きる』ということと『目の前にいる人を理解する』という知恵を、これから西条の人へ渡していきたいと願っています。私がこれからしようとしていることは、今はまだ何も始まっていないですし、私一人でできることではありません。ですが、私の覚悟をもっての言動と、それに共鳴する人がいれば、何らかの結果をだすことは可能だと信じています。私は現在、ゴールドコースト在住ですが、今回のプロジェクトは、1回限りのアイデアではなくて、長い期間を通して何度もじっくりとやっていきたいと考えています。今回はその第1回として、どれくらいのことが実際に出来るか楽しみでなりません。2018年の日本滞在予定期間は、8月1日から8月30日です。その間に、講演会やそのほか出来ることがあればどんどんしていく心構えです。私の故郷、西条での滞在を今から楽しみにしています。


私の覚悟
私のことを知らない方には、信じられないことかもしれませんが、私は毎日を真剣に生きています。その日に出会った人、行った会話、感じた感情、相手の目から映し出されるもの、上手く行ったこと、上手く行かなかったこと、気になること、解決したいことなど、それらひとつ、ひとつに精一杯向き合っています。落ち込むこともありますし、希望で心が満たされる日もあります。全ては、私の言動や価値観のどこかに原因があっての今日の現実。挑戦しては失敗して、失敗から学んで改善してと、日々の小さなつまずきを真剣に受け止めています。その覚悟が出来たのも、実際に実践することが出来ているのも、私に与えられている時間に限りがあることを心の底から知っているからです。いつかは終わるこの命を、私は毎日、私らしく生きることを選択し続け、今日の私が出来る精一杯を表現しています。まだまだ、未熟で至らない点が沢山ある中、日々の反省をしながら、一歩一歩、歩んでいます。

I’d always thought that yoga was just a stretching exercise that was done by people who like spirituality. At my first trial lesson, I found out that it’s actually quite a serious workout, I was also shocked to realize that, up until that point, I really wasn’t taking care of myself at all.
To me, the most beneficial aspect of yoga isn’t its impact on my flexibility or core muscles; rather, it is the fact it ensures I have time to think about myself and clear my mind.

SUMMARY
This class runs in the Japanese language for people who would like to understand yoga in their own language. We have more than 3,000 Japanese (born) people living on the Gold Coast, Australia. This specialised class also runs with the school term for our students, to make it easy to attend all the classes, especially for people who have school students in the family. As school term, we have an 8-10 week block for 4 times a year.
​What do you learn?
Learn to position your body correctly in the poses, strengthen the muscles and learn to balance and cultivate flexibility in poses as well as in life.
What about during the school holidays?
It is up to you to practice at home or join in the other classes we have. You will learn basic sequences in the class for you to be able to practice anywhere anytime.

SUMMARY
There are many styles of yoga that have been practiced in most countries in the world. Men and women, children to the elderly, beginners to masters, students to teachers, East to West, South and North. Passing on the knowledge and wisdom from 5000 years ago. Yoga means "connection" between the spirit and the body. The world within and without. When we connect to a deeper inside, we become calmer, which creates peace in the mind and body, ​which radiates to all. Yoga is a way of living and there are eight limbs of stages to practice daily.
The daily or regular practice of self disciplines in the body, mind and spirit, makes ourselves stay in peace and free from the egoic self, which creates harmony in every part of the human being. Ego is not a bad thing, yet there are much more possibilities that we could experience when we own our life 100 % with our pure self.
THE EIGHT LIMBS OF STAGES
  1. ​​ Yama, which has five teachings of ethical conducts and behaviour to others as morally practiced universally.
  2. Niyama, which has five teachings of self discipline and observations to maintain and stay in a beautiful state.
  3. Asana, the physical movements of the yoga poses, that cultivate the concentration and the self discipline physically and internally.
  4. Pranayama, control breathing, connection between the breath, mind and emotions that control the life force.
  5. Pratyahara, which provides the awareness internally and observes as it is without any judgements. 
  6. Dharana, which is concentration on a single mental point of the sounds of breath or imagination of the energy flow.  
  7. Dhyana, the meditation state as uninterrupted concentration.
  8. Samadhi, the final stage of the eight limbs which is the state of ecstasy or enlightenment. ​

This class is designed to welcome everyone exploring yourself with the knowledge of yoga, the way of living . You will learn and experience yourself wisely in the area of spirituality and mentality. We have time to discuss and share our experience on the subject or the topic for the morning. If you like the openness or deeper connection with yourself, then this class is for you.
Please bring a yoga mat or cushion or we have chairs that you can use.
